Thanks to everyone who came out to Fuel Cafe on Friday night for the Throwing Stuff show, it was a lot of fun. We’ve not done a free/donations show in a long, long while and this was brilliant. Thanks to everyone who donated so we could give the bands some petrol money too! Continue reading
Firstly, thanks to everyone that started 2017 off brilliantly and came out to Night & Day Cafe on 3rd January to watch Martha, Radiator Hospital, ONSIND, Natterers and Grotbags, what a way to kick off the year.
That was a co-promo with Bad Uncle and we’re teaming up again at the end of January to put on a FREE entry gig on a FRIDAY night. What more could you want? Continue reading
There’s not many bands around at the moment that have been on the grind for as long as Austria’s finest export – Astpai.
Every time I have the pleasure of catching them live whether it be on festival line-ups blowing peoples minds, or supporting on bigger tours and stealing the spotlight, it’s such a pleasure. They play with an honest intensity, and deliver everything with a sincerity that’s not found often. Continue reading
Oh, hey there. It’s a been a little while since I’ve had 5 minutes to update this but let me give you a quick overview of all the reasons.
The reasons include things like Paint It Black playing their first UK show in 7 years, Donovan Wolfington playing their first Manchester show ever and a celebration with Astpai! Continue reading
The first time we had the opportunity to put Calvinball on was for the first ever Manchfester at The Oxford in 2010, they were on tour with Leagues Apart and Cynics (before they became Great) and have had them on numerous line-ups and most of the Manchfester’s over the last 6 years.
In the last two years Calvinball gigs have been hard to come by, notably due to Joe (guitar) moving to Australia and further helped by Conor (drums) moving to Canada. Matt’s in Blackpool and Dave’s in Manchester so might as well be in two different continents still. Continue reading
Moving North shows for June are all done and dusted, in the space of one weekend! Thanks to everyone who came out for the Blackhole and Brawlers show on Friday night, was nice to see Hopes back in the swing of things too. It was also the first time we’ve had the pleasure of using Fallow Cafe as a venue and it was bloody great.
Because 11 bands simply isn’t enough for Manchfester 4 – we decided to go and grab another two. In keeping with the old & new mix we’ve gone for someone who’s played many a Moving North show and a band that we’ve not yet had the pleasure of hosting. Continue reading
It’s that time of year, Manchfester is coming around with a line-up of old and new and a bit of inbetween to fill your ears with some brilliant music for a whole day.
It’s the first and quite likely last one that will ever be at The Star & Garter too before that’s closed down so extra emotional on that front. Bands, you ask? Continue reading
I’m really excited for this show. Fallow Cafe is a tiny venue that we’ve not had the pleasure of using before and this line-up couldn’t be more perfect for it. Continue reading
