Happy 15th Birthday to Astpai!

There’s not many bands around at the moment that have been on the grind for as long as Austria’s finest export – Astpai.
Every time I have the pleasure of catching them live whether it be on festival line-ups blowing peoples minds, or supporting on bigger tours and stealing the spotlight, it’s such a pleasure. They play with an honest intensity, and deliver everything with a sincerity that’s not found often.

I think I first got my Astpai experience when I went on my first European tour with Leagues Apart in 2010, we played a practice space in Wiener Neuschtadt, Austria and Astpai headlined. It was awesome.

Since then we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming them to Manchester on various tours and most recently a great slot at Manchester Punk Festival. I’m really excited to get them back in a small venue and downstairs at Retro Bar on this line-up in November will be perfect.
Joining them on the bill are London/Leeds two-piece Kamikaze Girls who’ve been creating a big stir recently with the release of their EP ‘Sad’, fuzz-rock for everyone. They’ve just come back from playing The Fest in Florida and the venue was absolutely packed for them, don’t miss them in Manchester!

The bill is completed by Edgarville and Smother – who play their first ever show! No advance tickets, just pay on the door. 7pm on Monday 21st November.
