Here’s an update!

first_round_announcement-01-1

Oh, hey there. It’s a been a little while since I’ve had 5 minutes to update this but let me give you a quick overview of all the reasons.

The reasons include things like Paint It Black playing their first UK show in 7 years, Donovan Wolfington playing their first Manchester show ever and a celebration with Astpai!

First things first, Manchfester 4 was absolutely incredible and I want to say thanks to all the bands, engineer, film folks and mostly the wonderful ticket-buying public for making it my favourite Moving North show ever. It’s warming to still be topping Moving North’s best shows (imo) at #88 or whatever that was!

I’m really excited to welcome Donovan Wolfington to Manchester this Sunday at Fallow Café for the first time – it’s their first trip to Manchester and their latest album is a belter. Check the even better video below:

We’re teaming up with Anarchistic Undertones on the next two shows after that, our last tag-team was The Bennies / Throwing Stuff show at Gullivers and if you were there, you know how brilliant that was.

We’ve got Get Dead! (Fat Wreck Chords) all the way from the states coming to tear things up at Retro Bar with a stellar supporting cast of local dub legends Autonomads, Roughneck Riot, Aerial Salad and Welsh four-piece HOT MASS featuring members of The Arteries and Dividers with their Piebald-esque brilliance, they’ve also on tour with The Menzingers in October so try and catch them then too.

Then at the end of November we’re teaming up again to celebrate 15 years of the brilliant Astpai! Astpai were one of the first DIY punk bands I got to know and their dedicate to everything is humbling. It’s also Zock’s birthday that day so we’ll be upping the party a notch or two. The rest of the line-up is tbc!

That’s all folks – apart from that massive Modern Baseball show happening at Academy 2 in February, that’s weird right? Either way, tickets are flying out for that one so don’t miss out!

Manchester Punk Festival (of which Moving North is 1/3) announced the first set of bands for 2017 and in that included Paint It Black‘s first UK show in 7 years. This is such a huge, huge deal for us. Super Early and Early Bird tickets sold out in 24 hours (!!!) but you can get general sale tickets from here right now. Many, many more bands to be announced too!
