Couldn’t just have the ten bands for £10 could we?! Of course not. As usual, we’ve decided to throw a few more incredible bands into the mix from all over the country (and a bit of the world).
International super-star rock group with members of Static Radio / The Arteries playing low-fi, garage grunge. They’ve never played Manchester before and when Jamie asked if they could get on the bill, I couldn’t turn it down. They released their album “Imaginary People” in April and you can listen to it right here.
Jamie used to play in The Arteries, who headlined the first ever Moving North show so it’s rad to get at least 1/5 of them back for this Manchfester. Mike also used to play in Static Radio NJ, who put out one of the best and underrated albums I’ve heard with “We Are All Beasts” and, long story, they were one of the first bands I ever watched in Manchester, a year before I moved to the city.
STAY CLEAN JOLENE
We had the pleasure of having SCJ on the recent Red City Radio show and they absolutely blew me away. Their latest self-titled album is bloody great start to finish. Unmistakably Northern, melodic in the vein of Leatherface and Hot Water Music. Learn the words below and have a good time in October.
Another band that we had in town recently, Doe, are coming back again and we’re all totally stoked they agreed to sit in more traffic to come to Manchester once more. Three piece, with two guitars and a drum. Their compilation release “First Four” came out on Specialist Subject Records and is 13 songs of honest, catchy indie-pop-punk-greatness. I’m terrible at describing bands.
And that’s it! The final three bands for this years Manchfester. Thirteen bands, one venue, only 100 tickets available and that’s it.
